Consumer Protection Act, 1986–Sec. 23–Indian Contract Act, 1872–Sec. 230–Respondent no. 1 was simply acting as an agent of principal–He cannot be held personally liable to enforce the contract entered between his principal and appellant–Further, there was no contract between appellant and
respondent no. 4 for carrying the consignment–Furthermore, respondent no. 2 (bank) also not collected the amount from the consignee–Held, above all respondents were rightly discharged from the liability.
