Motor Vehicles Act, 1988–Secs. 147 & 2(30)–Liability was fastended on the manufacturer and dealer of vehicle jointly and severally–Accident occurred during the test drive–Both the deceased who were the occupants of vehicle, were the employees of manufacturer-Hindustan Motors–None of the employee of dealer was present in the vehicle–Nothing on record to show that the dealer was having the authority to deny those two persons permission to take the vehicle for a test drive–It can be safely concluded that the vehicle was only under the ownership of manufacturer–Appellant-dealer was not liable for compensation as an owner of vehicle.
