Electricity Act, 2003–Sec. 56–Disconnection of supply in default of payment–Period of limitation of two years–When will commence ?–It would commence from the date on which the electricity charges become “first due” u/s. 56(2)–However, Sec. 56(2) does not preclude the Licensee Company from raising a supplementary demand after the expiry of the limitation period of two years–In the instant case, after the discovery of mistake of billing under the wrong Tariff Code, the supplementary demand was made on 18.03.2014–Limitation would commence from 18.03.2014.
