Penal Code, 1860–Secs. 323, 341, 382, 427 & 143–Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989–Sec. 3(1)(r), 3(1)(s) & 3(2)(va)–Criminal proceedings–Prayer to quash on the ground of compromise –Powers u/s. 482 can be exercised in cases where the parties have entered into compromise in the cases involving offences under the provisions of the SC/ST Act–The only caution which is to be borne in mind is that the compromise must be with free will–Held, FIR is liable to be quashed in view of compromise arrived at between the parties.
