Evidence Act, 1872–Secs. 65(2) & 74–Private documents that are kept as public records by the State shall form public documents and all public documents defined u/s. 74 of the Act are admissible as secondary evidence u/s. 65(e) of the Act–Sale deed and patta questioned by the petitioner are the public documents and these are admissible as secondary evidence–Application was rightly allowed.
