Penal Code, 1860–Sec. 307–Sentence of 14 year’s rigorous imprisonment–In case the victim suffered hurt in term of the second part of Sec. 307 IPC, he can be sentenced to undergo imprisonment of life–In the event, the Court did not consider that imprisonment for life is to be imposed, the other option going by the provision is only to impose such punishment as is mentioned in the first part of Sec. 307 which is prescribed for a term which may extend to ten years and also to pay fine–Injured suffered spine injury and became paralysed in terms of second part of Sec. 307–Sentence to ten year’s rigorous imprisonment is liable to be imposed.
