Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954–Secs. 11 to 13–Where examination of the contents/ ingredients of the food article is integral for proving the offence of ‘misbranding’ the procedure prescribed u/s. 11 to 13 has to be complied with regardless of whether adulteration is alleged or not–This includes a right to obtain a second opinion from the Central Laboratory u/s. 13(2).
